FISIP UPN Veteran Yogyakarta Holds Strategic Meeting with Student Organizations: Aligning Programs with Institutional Vision and KPIs

Yogyakarta, June 31, 2025 — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta held a Strategic Working Meeting (Rapat Kerja) on Saturday (31/6), involving all student organizations and academic study groups under the faculty. A total of 19 student bodies participated in this important forum.

The meeting served as a crucial platform to guide student work programs to be aligned with the university and faculty’s vision and mission, which is:

"To become a leading faculty in Asia, grounded in the values of national defense, in the global era by 2039."

In his opening remarks, Acting Dean of FISIP, Dr. Muhammad Edy Susilo, M.Si, emphasized that student activities must carry strategic responsibility as part of a higher education institution.

“Student programs must be aligned with the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Every rupiah spent from the national budget must be accountable and support the achievement of those KPIs,” he asserted.
“Student activities can no longer just copy what previous generations have done. There must be innovation and real contributions.”

The KPIs referred to include several strategic targets of higher education, such as improving graduate quality, fostering international collaboration, increasing non-academic achievements, and engaging students in community-impact initiatives.

Meanwhile, Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Agussalim, MA, Ph.D, highlighted the critical role of students in shaping the future of Indonesia. He stated that student development programs should also support Indonesia's 2045 Vision, which aims to create excellent, noble, adaptive, and collaborative human resources.

“FISIP students must step up as leaders of social change. Your work programs are not merely organizational routines, but steps toward realizing Indonesia Emas (Golden Indonesia) 2045,” he passionately stated.

Vice Dean for Finance and General Affairs, Indro Hery Mulyanto, M.Si, also gave a presentation on the budget and administrative support available to student organizations. He emphasized the faculty’s openness and full support for transparent and accountable financial management.

“We are actually concerned if the allocated budget goes unused. Make the most of the available funds to implement impactful and responsible programs. The faculty is ready to assist with disbursement and reporting,” he explained.

As a concrete commitment to support student empowerment, the meeting also invited representatives from the University’s Finance Department to provide direct technical guidance. Student leaders were given practical knowledge on budget management, proposal submission procedures, and accountability reporting for their activities.
